Most small businesses keep a fax machine alive in the far corner of the copy room simply for faxing forms that you’ve had to print out and sign. FillAnyPDF is trying to add even more dust to the fax machine with the release of their web application that allows you to upload a PDF to send around for signatures. You can even post a link to the PDF on your web site and get detailed analytics on who has filled out which field or form.

The free FillAnyPDF handles the signature two ways. You can use the drawing tool to hand draw your signature or use the “Digital Signature” tool which essentially amounts to typing your name into a form field. As for the rest of the fields, any place where a form is setup will be auto-recognized by FillAnyPDF.

In addition, the FillAnyPDF site provides a forum for sharing common forms.

3 Reasons You Should Use FillAnyPDF:

  • You send and/or receive more than 2 PDFs a month that need signatures.
  • You want to post PDF forms on your site and track who fills it out.
  • You send around sensitive documents and would like to host the app on your own server.

3 Reasons You Don’t Need FillAnyPDF:

  • You don’t send around a lot of PDFs forms.
  • You don’t feel comfortable storing potentially sensitive documents with a third-party and don’t have the abilities to install it on your own servers.
  • You want people to be able to view the documents on their iPhone or iPad. The app is written in Flash which isn’t supported on those devices.
