You’ve just paid a web designer multiple thousand of dollars to finish your site and now you have new graphics you want to add. You could go back to the developer, pay them some more money, and get them to finish the job for you. Or you could signup for Stiqr, a beta web tool that allows you to literally drag extra graphics around on your site until you find the perfect spot.

The first step to using the free Stiqr is a one-time placement of two lines of code into the body of your html code. Once that is done you simply press Shift-F2 and then login to your Stiqr account. It opens in the bottom of your browser and above it you will view your actual live site. You then have the options to add additional text to your site, more photos, additional graphics or even custom code. Everything is done from the footer of your browser and you literally place items as you want them to appear in an experience that is similar to working in Adobe Photoshop or Adobe InDesign.

Stiqr claims you can create a complete site from Stiqr and shows how they built their entire site in less than an hour. For some businesses this might make sense, but most businesses will use this to make periodic adjustments to their site.

3 Reasons You Might Need Stiqr:

  • You don’t have access to a web designer full time but would like to occasionally update your site with additional graphics and text.
  • Your site is already setup on a Content Management System but it only controls the main body text areas and you would like to be able to change other areas of the page.
  • You are in the process of building your site and would like a simple editor to change out photos and text with little to no coding effort.

3 Reasons You Wouldn’t Need Stiqr:

  • You have a site that is already setup on a robust Content Management System where you have the ability to make changes to any part of your page with limited effort.
  • You don’t have the access or skills to add the two lines of code necessary to get Stiqr started for the first time.
  • You use a simple Content Management System like Surreal CMS or Cushy and don’t need a second one added on top of it.
