Resize Your Photos Quickly at PicResize
We’ve previously talked about Phoenix, a web-based image editor that is close to a full-fledged Photoshop replacement. Phoenix works great as an online photo resizer, but its extra features are more than you need when you just need to quickly resize one or a bunch of photos. PicResize aims to simplify that process.
PicResize is a web-based tool with just a couple of narrowly-focused features. The first step with the free PicResize is to choose the photo you want to upload. Once it uploads then you have two options, choose a pre-determined size or create your own custom size. You then have a third option to colorize your photo, but most users can probably skip over that step as well.
The last option is to finalize the export as a .jpg, .gif, .png, or .bmp. There are some advanced editing techniques beyond the final upload, but if you need to take advantage of those you may be better off using Phoenix.
In the last few weeks they have added a new feature to batch resize your photos. Since the original size will likely not be the same, PicResize only allows you to resize your photo to 75, 50, and 25 percent of the original size.
3 Reasons You Should Use PicResize:
- You need to resize a photo for your website or before you send in an email.
- You don’t need advanced edits to the photo such as red-eye fixes or cropping.
- You have multiple photos that you would like to resize all at once.
3 Reasons You Wouldn’t Need PicResize:
- You have access to Photoshop or even Picasa and are comfortable resizing using those tools.
- You need advanced editing capabilities in addition to resizing the photo.
- You need to resize multiple photos at once but you need them resized to a custom size.
